Protesta Display — A Typeface

Display Typeface DesignThis typeface, named Protesta Display, was inspired by the 2021 Heartbeat Bill (SB8) signed by Governor Greg Abbott in Texas. The project began in response to this legislation. Throughout the research process, protest art and posters from both 2021 and the 1970s became key influences on the typeface’s development. The goal was to create a design that feels organic, individual, and bold.
